The GLM2 Foundation Inc. will host the Courage to Rise Fun Run on June 22, in downtown Augusta, Ga. The run/walk begins at 9 a.m. at The Augusta Market on the 8th Street Plaza.
Participants may register on the GLM2 website for this family-friendly, pet-friendly event with a $20 donation.
Check-in begins at 8 a.m. The first 100 registrants will receive free T-shirts and SWAG bags. Organizers will also hand out dog collars that say “Jesus Loves Me, Too.”
While the June 22 event is very family-friendly and fun, the cause for which GLM2 is raising money is very serious.
GLM2 is dedicated to creating a safe, sustainable community of healing for individuals who have been affected by the physical, mental, and emotional abuse of being sex trafficked.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security states on its Blue Campaign website that:
- “human trafficking exists nationwide–in cities, suburbs, and rural towns–and possibly in your own community.”
- “victims can be any age, race, gender, or nationality. They may come from any socioeconomic group.”
Your tax-deductible donations to GLM2 will contribute to the healing process of victims who, in fact, may live closer than you think.
